gopro for $35 ?!
well not exactly. i was in Bed,Bath, and Boring with my wife when i came across the discount isle. a knock-off GoPro camera was there discounted to $40. as i looked at it it struck me to be very similar to my gopro. i figured with my wifes $5 off discount coupon this thing is only $35. if it falls off my ski and into the lake i'm not really out anything. i spent more in gas riding for the day.
so i get home and unbox the Chinese knock off and i have to say. its pretty damn close to the gopro. i slapped a micro memory card in it and powered it up. wow! pretty clear display. my gopro does have a built in display. i have to attach a separate LCD screen and if i want it on the camera while i record, i have to put the camera in a special case built for the additional screen.
i'm going to compare the resolution tonight but looking so far, this thing is as good as the gopro model i have. a little bigger than the gopro but lighter if i attach the video screen to my gopro. it comes with a helmet mount, handlebar mount and waterproof case. micro sd card not included. i thought i'd share this in case someone didnt have $400 to shell out for a gopro hero but always wanted one. i could buy ten of these for the price of one gopro. one draw back though. the case is is only good to 15 ft water depth.

Might be good for mild conditions, however eat a wave hard/fast enough and it is going to see a lot more pressure on the seals than it would at 15' depth.

A friend of mine got his son one like this in Australia for $50 . He used it on his ski , he is impressed with it . I haven't seen the video yet .

i found a youtube comparison between the gopro and the emerson action cam. video quality looks about the same. hard to tell from the audio because they're not mounted in the same location. the gopro is mounted near the engine so the engine sounds clearer and the emerson is mounted at the front of the ATV so it sounds muffled.

How do the mounts look?

SWEET, I could by about 4 of them to get every angle instead of 1 GoPro!
Thanks for sharing

Hello, I got a great deal on a "Vivitar" brand @ $50.00 and it really works great I did put a $30 chip. I did loose it after a bad flight or fancy during a CC race .... It came floating back up to the shore right in front of the start gates ... So it floated well and no water in it @ all. Still works great. The photos and movies & sound are pretty good. So I am convinced that not every one has to buy big $$ Go Pro.
