Is ECU re-flashing on the 300X worth the money

I'm trying to make my ski faster and I keep hearing about re-flashing the ECU, but its over 700 bucks. If I do it, what can I expect as far as MPH...75 or more? Also, would I have to make any other changes to the ski if i do it? Thanks for the help...

Jet dave swears by it Barry. I'm sure he will give u info on it. What does it matter what You do. Every time we go in the ocean you sit there because u forgot to take ur skirt off and don't try to keep up. You should buy a spark

No it is not. The reflashes do not give you a top speed. They only give a little more bottom end. I would not do it for a recreation ski. The rewards do not warrant the cost.

Read around you can get to 75 range but the tune will not be part of why. I have one myself so I am speaking from experience.

With the right prop pitch you get 5-10% bottom end and midrange, simply put more Acceleration, but never saw any real higher speed than previously..

If that's worth $650-700 to you then get it... if not then spend it elsewhere...

I think it worth it for me,but maybe not others...

You really don't want to get just the reflash. You will want to get the prop also as the extra power causes cavitation with stock prop. I still think it's worth the money for anyone. Even a rec rider. The acceleration is loads of fun and while I didn't gain any mph I was able to hit 75 a couple times with it (which was my best before the reflash). It made all the difference in holeshot, so if you race your buddies around alot it is worth while. I'd say I gained a solid two ski lengths in acceleration.

Stang's experience pretty much has me convinced I want to try the R&D - acceleration is what I'm looking for, could care les about top speed

$700 is a rip off, though, it should be no more than $350

I used to think along these lines until you yanked me off the line by 2 ski's every moto in Racine. Now I'm glad I did it. Money well spent.

Sorry brother. Yes for racing no doubt. He was asking about the top speed. Chasing speed that $1000 between tune and impeller can be used other ways. Not to mention the time properly tuning the impeller to work the best it can.
