    installing motor mounts

    Was just wondering when u add motor mounts to a hull do u fiberglass a flat spot and then drill holes and install threaded inserts and then bolt down . Is this the way everyone does it or ?

    95 xp 800hull and want to add kaw 800 motor

    Seems like a major downgrade but I'm sure you have your reasons.
    As for your question.
    After determining where the need to be and building a good base I would finish by glassing over a 3/8" aluminum plate and then drill and tap for mount bolts.

    As for a base just use fiberglass . And ya i have my reasons . Well thanks for the reply i am slowly starting to figure out a plan

    Dont just use threaded inserts, they will rip right out

    No i will use 1/2" aluminum and tap holes. I wonder if it will b ok just too get two more seodoo engine mounts the same as the two that are in the rear of the xp hull.i was just wondering if they are much stiffer rubber than the kawi mounts . If that would matter

    Interesting conversion put up some pics. Maybe someone could help with the mounting issue then. Also, have you thought about the driveshaft connection?

    You could probably get away with just threading the end of the doo shaft and putting the kawi coupler on it
