Exclamation Yamaha's new lease/buyback program for PWC

I wonder how this will work out for Yamaha? Tommy Jordan http://watercraftjournal.com/yamaha-...yback-leasing/

Its certainly gonna get more Yamaha PWCs out on the water. Leasing makes sense for Yamaha to try. It works for the automobile industry and should work well for Yamaha.
The BuyBack offer sounds pretty straight forward. But mostly its just a sales promotion to get you into the dealership (potentially twice) so they can lead you towards buying a new PWC (potentially twice in 3 years). Nothing wrong with that though because they are gonna buyback or trade your Waverunner, guaranteed.

Sounds like an interesting program. I just sent in my final loan payment today and it sure feels good.

The cynic is me is imagining how much they will charge you for every scrape and scratch, the mildew and the tiny tear on the seat and the footpad that is starting to peel up. Very curious to see the fine print in the lease agreement.

Normally I wouldn't lease anything if I could help it, but it might be nice option if you didn't know how long you wanted to keep the ride....

well it looks like it will be a win win situation, its pretty much like a lease vehicle, so that mean yamaha skis are going to hold their price even more. i kind of like the idea, every two years you be ridden a new machine, awesome.
    don't you guys think?

As far as the BuyBack is concerned, it says they'll use NADA Trade-in value standards. So if you go in to the dealer thinking your ski is worth $9k or $10k retail, they are gonna give you $6.5k trade in value. If you have excessive salt water use without proper cleaning or maintenance, knock another $1k off that.
