    nose cone or not

    I have not seen anything on this lately are most of you not running the cone? I just installed a 15/19 3 blade and I left off the nose cone on the RXT, What do you guys think?

    I think the general consensus is off in fresh water, on in salt, although many take it off in salt as well.

    No one has had a problem as of yet. No one has complained about a decrease in performance by taking it off. Either leave it on or take it off, its your choice, some people saw a slight speed increase (.1-.2 mph) from removing it.

    We all took ours of and saw a gain... I did skeggs & nose cone got 1.25 mph total no probs so far.

    with it off you cavitate a little more out of the hole yields about .5 on top on a GPR. just my .02cents

    can you take the stock rubber one off too if you are running the stock prop?

    Here is my high tech pump installer tool for when you remove the cone off the prop. It gets to be a pain trying to "stab" the driveshaft into the prop with no cone. This holds the driveshaft centered for easier installation. Rest the driveshaft onto the sanding sponge inside the tunnel and run the wire out the bottom through the intake grate. Pop on the pump, and then pull the wire to get the sponge outta there.
