    Wash read: 1987 x2

    Looks to be too rich to me. Stock 28mm carb. Thinking about removing the flame arrester since it looks highly restrictive. Thoughts?

    You are definitely getting enough fuel. Stock machines are typically a little rich. If you change your flame arrestor you may have to low pop off due to reduced vacuum in the carb venturi.

    Im actually afraid to keep the stock FA in there. its 26 years old and very crusty. It looks it may have been foam at one point but now looks like petrified aluminum. I'm thinking of cutting part of a spare FA screen from my GP1200R to fit in the box - That FA is a stainless sheet with 1/4" drilled holes.
