2010 RXTX 260 Engine Mount Shims

    Hi all,

I did do a search but didnt have any luck.

I have bought myself an SBT engine alignment tool to check the alignment of my ski as i have already gone through one carbon ring. When doing this do i need to buy some extra engine mount shims to get it aligned perfectly or is it just a case of loosening the engine mount bolts and just shifting the engine about???

Also, pump shoes, i have read that sometimes the alignment of pump shoes can be out and this is important to adjust so the drive shaft is perfectly aligned through the hull. How does this work in my model as the pump is bolted to the ride plate???

    Thanks,

    Pete

    Pete.

Pete, (2010 RXT-X) the SBT kit you refer to is only good for the long alignment shaft and PTO adapter, the OEM fixture that bolts to the ride plate is NOT included and must be purchased separate. You also need the thru-hull adapter that fits into the thru hull fitting and tools to remove the 2010 OEM floating ring OR expose the c clip from under the floating ring(2011-2012 drive shaft). Yes you need to order 2-4 shims for the both rear mounts. Many of us have removed 1-2 of the front shims and added 2-4 per side as required. Every one that has gone through this finds slightly different results. I posted a thread with all the part numbers and prices and I'll try and find it for you. You also need the shop manual procedures to accomplish a proper alignment!
Once you have everything and get it aligned you will see great results!

See post number #10 in this thread for a list of alignment tools for a 2010 TX:

Additionally, if you are still using the stock 2010 drive shaft you really need to get rid of it and convert to a 2011-2012 shaft configuration. They are notorious about spline failures. This means replacing the PTO seal, clamps, bellows, carbon seal, etc. etc.
