    13 VXR Thru hull exhaust

Whats up everyone? Now that Christmas and everything is all over with its time for me to start modding things again, this time being my 13 VXR I purchased last June. I want to first apologize if this question has been asked a million times but I want to put a Thru Hull Exhaust on my ski and would like to know how this will sound with the factory waterbox. I'm not out for crazy speed, I just want the ski to sound as badass as it looks, and right now its pretty quiet in the water. 99% of me wanting to do this is for the sound and sound only, if I gain some performance then that's great but it's not the sole purpose. IMO the ski runs awesome exactly the way it is factory and I don't want to mess with any of it. I'd don't really want to drop the $$$ for the aftermarket waterbox so hopefully someone has done this without making that purchase, and if so, how does it sound?

    Appreciate the help folks.

The riva thru hull exhaust sounds awesome with the stock waterbox. It's not over the top loud, but gives the ski that extra growl and performance sound. I prefer the rear exhaust over the free flow exhaust. Free flow has a bad drone at lower RPM's. If you decide you want more sound later then add the Riva waterbox into the mix.

this is the rear exhaust for your ski http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1658

Wouldn't happen to have any sound clips do ya? All the ones I found on youtube were with the Riva box. Though about gutting the stock box, and shortening it. Any thoughts to that?
    Appreciate the response man

Are the Riva or any aftermarket water boxes completely hollow inside?

The Riva is completely hollow. Also it is smaller.

The Riva waterbox is hollow, however the exit pipe protrudes a certain depth into the water box. This depth was determined by lots of tuning on the dyno.

    Ok, I was just curious.
Gonna place the order for just the thru hull for this year. If i end up wanting more woopow then I'll buy the water box later. Probably going to do the ribbon delete while I'm in there, might as well right? Should I be worried about having any cavitation after these mods? I've read that some do but some don't and I don't really feel like messing with props and such just yet, baby steps lol.

    Thanks guys.

You will definitely want to do the ribbon delete. That's one of the very first things that should be done to these skis. Very first thing is the intake grate.

With those few mods cavitation should be a non issue.
