    Solas Intake Grate

So there is a lot of talk on here about the Worx, the Riva, the R&D, but i have seen no information on the Solas grates... what's the deal? They don't work as well as others? I just noticed that the price is significantly more appealing than the others. Particularly i am grate shopping for my 07 GTX Limited...

    I mean $129.95 for this... http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=232

    or $83.99 for this...http://www.iboats.com/SS0206-SOLAS-I...view_id.510793

I wanna know if it's $45.96 better for a rec ski... my perceived need for the grate is to improve ride and handling in chop and maybe a little acceleration/speed. I am keeping this thing very stock, i demand reliability.

It's still more than the Solas grate, but it is a better grate.

    Thanks for your business!

Is there no one who has tested one? What is better about the Riva? I know in the end i will most likely patronize the GH Store, but i want to know what the difference/advantage is, preferably from someone who has tried one.

I do not know a single person who's used one of those intake grates, nor do I recall ever seeing anyone post about using one. All of the fast skis are using either an R&D or Riva intake grate which are both designed for improved performance, handling and hookup.

Anyone ever even try one of these Solas grates?

From the pictures on that site, None of those look like they are the correct bolt pattern you would need for your ski. I would check with solas first, to see if they even make the correct one for your ski.

But, u cant go wrong With the Riva, Or R&D grates sold in the store here. Awesome customer service, and Jerry stands behind the products.

I mean Solas makes great props... the guy with the Solas grate might be the fastest mofo at the lake...

Looks like you must be a Solas dealer based on your impeller selection in the GH store Jerry, ever thought about carrying them? I'd try one... just because i am a curious fellow... If I don't like it i'll sell it on Ebay (along with everything else that i don't like or need)...

According to this chart http://www.solas.com/newweb/pwcprodu...o=F17&SwType=2 i would need the SS0206, so they do make one...

I just ordered a RIVa grate last week for my ski. Seems like they are .5-1 mph faster in smooth water compared to r&d. The worx is hands down the best in rough from all of my research and findings
