R-5 Racing in Texas?
Does anyone have any update on region 5 racing for the up and coming season?

If you want to race this year looks like you better get ready to so some driving. Brian & Jen are done & I would not count on the outlaw racing in the Dallas area.

skigolfnut, I heard about Brian, throwing in the towel and dropping R-5 promotions for this season. He stated he was willing to sell all of his gear/race setup if someone was ready to step up. I mentioned that if you and the other riders could get together and form a Region-5 club you could pull off a successful season. If the word got out that each rider pony up $400 to $600 to purchase the setup say about 35 riders or so commit to this enterprise it is doable. If you held races the race proceeds could cover cost of staging races and any over that could go to pay principles on their investment. Well just a thought .... if you are willing to drive a little farther, you certainly be welcomed to join us in Region 9. We race in south KS & MO. With your group we could ensure a very good/strong season of racing.

I would be up for both of those ideas.

would be up for both also , have 3 pro 785's ready to race. Maybe we could get something going at Gene,s and three palms near Conroe. would be willing to invest time and some money ( 1000.00).

sounds good, kind of like a co-op and maybe pick one spot like madisonville or genes and store all the gear somewhere close, so someone doesn't have to haul all the equipment so many miles,

Y'all need to look at the expenses of putting on a proper IJSBA event.
1500 ambulance andmedics
The initial cost is one thing. The continued cost is another. If this was at least a way to break even with the numbers we saw on our best days someone would have jumped on purchasing the region.
I think since most of the region is not interested in needing to qualify for WF, just have a "club" and some friendly "races" at Gene's. The club could purchase at least some of the gear to set up the course and whoever is not in that particular race can be the starter and course marshall. Something very unofficial yet still allowing you to get on the water.

It's not everyone's favorite (you can never pleAse everyone dont take it personal) but take a look at http://www.diablojsa.com/ its outlaw racing to the max. you bring a ski and he'll find a class for you!! more of a family/friend type atmosphere. i honestly couldn't tell you the cost/profit margin but Jim's a hell of a promoter and he's going on season 8 or 9 I believe and its growing fast. Send him an email, he's a good dude and willing to help the sport too!
