    Engine weight?

Anyone know how much a Ultra1200 engine with pipe weighs? How much a ZXi1100 engine with pipe weighs?

Thinking about a swap just wondering, if the 1200 weighs alot more than the 1100.

Wish I could help you on the weight. Here's an idea tho, email someone selling the 1200 on ebay and ask them how much it weighs. If I still had my engine out I would weigh it for you

I have a SeaDoo SPX and thinking about doing a conversion. Dropping 1200 or 1100 in it. The 1100 looks like a better engine to do, but the 1200 has the HP.

I see you ride a STXR. I am an old STX15F rider. I modded it out a little(RIVA RPM package plus CAI) got it to 68-69mph on GPS. I miss the way it handled for sure.

How's the 1200 engine holding up for you? We ride pretty hard, close to WOT in twisties for 10-15 minutes at a time.

It all depends on how the engine is treated and what kinda shape its in. My ultra has over 80hrs with all hard riding mostly wot, lots of wave jumping and have had no issues. Stxr on the other hand I have had issues since I picked it up, dropped a cylinder and destroyed a case. Rebuilt her and she's been good ever since. All together we have 6 of these 1200's and that's the only one which has given any issues.

I would go with the 1200, it spins at 7k all day and makes good power.

Not sure if your familiar with it but here are so dos and donts.
Oil injection has to stay intact because of check balls inside the case. I add a little oil in the gas.
Oil injection lines are specific to case/carb because of different out puts.
Do not use any sbt parts, do not sleeve the cylinders

A triple pissed kit is mandatory!)

Don't make me bring that 97SLEEPER down to the ST. John river. It has 375 hours on the motor and can still get it done!

I hate to bring up another forum but PWCtoday may be a better place to find your answer. That is where all the stand up guys are. I know many who run the 1200 and it is amazing. Great power and reliability with lots of information on it.
You could also email [email protected]. He has built some very impressive SXR packages that I have personally seen their performance and reliability. He could also probably help you with suggestions for the build of the engine. He is a great guy and an actual friendof mine.
