    Lining up trigger Wheel

After a month or so of letting it collect dust, I tore it down this afternoon, and here's what I found.

This is the current, albeit incorrect, problem causing position.

I found photos of my '11 build, and the 'missing teeth' area should be on the bottom while #3 is tdc. If you zoom in, the 'missing teeth' area can't be seen as it's on the bottom.

I'm waiting on the six flywheel bolts and usual gaskets right now, so I don't know if this is correct, but it's all I have to go on. Does anyone have a 4tec disassembled at the moment to verify? I'd sure appreciate it before it's buttoned up... again. Oh, and the numbers and arrow on the magneto are 'up'. Is there a certain position for this as well? The manual doesn't mention needing to line up anything. ugh

There's a pin on the crank gear and matching locator hole on the trigger and flywheel. Match them up and your good. The only thing to take note off is mixing and matching different years.
Mag does not matter, thus why the pin is not longer and there is no locator hole in it. Rotax could not have made it any easier for us.

#3 @ TDC, alignment marks on crank and balancer line up, space at bottom. See dowel pin hole on the crank at 7 o'clock position?

Be sure to clean the bolt holes in the crank for the flywheel....and oil free!!!

Glad to hear. Thanks guy, I really appreciate the information. The manual's lack of info confused me...
After parts arrive and the new head is resurfaced and block decked, she's going back together--hopefully for the final time this year!!
