    Kwak 15f unstable...

    Hi guys and girls,
I have a 2006 15f and it feels unstable on the water and worse in the chop! Two up is a night mare feeling very vague when turning then tram tracks and feels like it is going to capsize! I have had it to the dealer and he said there wasn't a problem, but I am new to this but still feel there is something wrong! i have read a few other guys have had handling issues with these and fixed it by changing the sponsons! Has any one come across this before??
    Thanks in advance.

Yep. 2010 15f. Added Worx sponsons and an R&D ride plate. Now it walks over wakes and chop. I would try the Shredmaster plate if you can find one. Be careful with the new sponsons. It will corner like it's on rails!

Whenever you add additional weight or passengers a watercraft will feel less stable. Get the boat moving at faster than no wake speed and that goes away. Thats just what happens when you put a lot of weight in a small boat no matter what type of craft it is.

Thanks for replies however, it has got to the point I feel like selling it unless I can stop it feeling like it has a mind of its own ! Even the slightest wave or swell has the ski turning and feeling out of control some times...the way to describe the handling two up is if you filled the hull full of water and then rode it , ok ish in a straight line although it leans, and when you come to turn around feels scary!! Just thought I would mention I am not scared of the power as I have ridden things a lot faster, I am just looking to find an answer into why it feels like this? If I put new sponsons on does that mean it will be worse in the chop? Russell have you noticed a big improvement in stability on your ski or does it just turn faster and chop around more?

I have never seen a ski the size of a 15f with stability issues. Yes they can feel a little squirrely with 2 people on them. Its just the nature of the beast. Unless you actually do have water in the hull. Have you checked that out?

At what speeds are you feeling this issue?

All round problems, the ski has had all bushes changed and there is no leaks in the hull, the ski feels better at full throttle.
another way to describe how it feels is if you had cheap tyres your car and the car tracks and follows the tarmack joints.. If that makes sense.. Lol so there is two issues really.. Main one being it tracks with the slightest wave or swell. Speed wise upto 60klms

Does this hull have an inner liner? If yes, could there be water between the liner and the outer hull?

If no inner liner, I would be looking at everything that touches the water for gaps, uneven joints, warps, etc. Sponsons, ride plate, steering nozzle, intake grate...

When I ride 2 up with my gf she leans real bad and throws the balance on the craft off (VXR similar to your ski). Solution is she stays home now lol.

Sounds like your talking about the ski moving on its own when your off the throttle. If so thats normal for any pwc.
