    05 4tec scic motor wont start/run. (ONLY FIRES UP BRIEFLY ON EASY START FLUID)

    Ive built a a conversion ski with all parts from a 2005 RXP. now everything was running perfect on Friday, and I was hoping to get it to the water this weekend for its maiden voyage . but on Saturday the motor just cranked over. and wouldn't start I can only get it to fire up briefly with easy start.

    what ive now changed:

    sparkys/coil packs.
    charged up battery fully (not check with a multimeter though)
    pumped out old fuel and just fitted fresh fuel (25ltrs)
    getting a good spark.
    fuel squirts from injectors on cranking (seems to tail off under long cranks)
    havnt checked fuel pressure (although it seems ok, and you can hear the fuel dumping into the tank from the regulator.)

    no codes on dash.

    I didn't touch any electrics or mechanics on the ski from Friday when it worked to Saturday when it didn't. (its always started first time before. never had to crank it to start it.)

    my bros got a 2006 rxp so I can try parts if need be.




    ive fully rebuilt the motor and I tested it for 2 hours in the rxp it came from.

    Did you replace your plugs or just check them?? All it takes is 1/2 a sEcond of fuel fouling and they are dead. Done a few cAr mOtors where this waste issue. A spark in the open,is very different then a spark inside a chamber, with compression

    the sparkys I fitted are new (from my bros working 2006 rxp)

    ONE THING IVE NOTICED IS THE RED WARNING LIGHT IS ON WHILST CRANKING ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF THE 2005 TYPE GAUGE CLUSTER... this normal?

    when it flashes, press the set button 5 times to bring up the PO code on the dash. That may tell u what the problem is, as long as u have the mode/set buttons on your Start/ stop switch.

    I like your sig, building 20K thrust engines as your day job. My crew builds 42K thrust engines for the F35 and 35K thrust engines for the F-22. Are you guys still building Tornado swing wing bombers? They were kind of a pig, but really cool when the wings were swept back and on the deck hauling ass!

    the red light dosent flash it just stays on while cranking. other things that is odd, and I just noticed, is then when cranking the needles on the gauge cluster whip round (as they would do when you install the lanyard. )

    Sounds like a bad connection, or ground somewhere. Possible battery, or cable issue? The Main "A, Or B" connector on the MPEM could have a bad connection, or loose pin in it.

    Did u press the "SET" button 5 times after the light comes on?

    yup press 5 times, it just says end (no codes)

    Yup still rebuilding the rb199 engines for the tornado. they as dirty as hell with the reverse thrust buckets.


    back to my pig of a ski.... when cranking over should the injectors constantly squirt? as mine stop squirting after a while on cranking..
