Replacing Valves 2005 RXT - What to get?

Hi all, New to the forums, From australia

I just bought an 05 RXT 215hp ski with 188.9 hours on it, seems to be in pretty good nick, and supposed to have the charger done 60 hours ago

i was told to do the exhaust valves on it, as the 05 models are prone to cracking so i want to replace them before this happens to me!

the advise it to put the valves in from a 2008+, Valves starting with 75 in the part #

From what i understand i would need the following

    Exhaust Valve Set
    Head Gasket
Head Bolts (mixed opinions on the requirement of these)
Rocker Arm bolts (mixed opinions on the requirement of these)
    Valve Stem Seals

can you confirm this, anyone know what kind price id be looking for? a close friend is able to perform the labour.

would prefer to use OEM parts, but am open to suggestions, seeking reliability over performance.

I have some local quotes for PROX Stainless valves, but never heard of these, and OEM parts in australia for all listed above is over $1000.

    I have a budget of $700 ish

    Michael

    thanks heaps in advance

Get supertech valves. Everything you need is available in the 4-tec performance store and oem store (links above)

I'm in the process of reassembly after replacing the valves in my 04 RXP and this is what I learned.

    - Pull the motor, don't have to but it's a lot easier, and replace the flywheel bolts as well.
    - Since you have to pull the head you might as well do the intake valves at the same time.
    - Replace all the valve seals.
    - New head gasket.
    - According to the manual the head bolts can be reused as long as they are within spec for length, I got a lot of "umms" and "ahhs" from the members about this so I got a set of ARP head studs.
    - Rocker shaft bolts need to be replaced as they are a torque to yield bolt.

Supertech valves seem to be a popular replacement choice, use oem for all the other gaskets, bolts etc. Take a look in the Greenhulk store, all the parts to do this are available there and could be sent to Aus in one package.

replace all the valves on a nine year old ski with nearly 200 hours of use you know nothing of. Better safe than sorry.
