building an engine with left overs
reading through the mix and match threads I am starting to second guess what actually matches
I have several engine parts left over and was looking to build a complete engine if possible with what I have.
what I was looking (wanting) at using was,
06 block with 08 crank, have 08 and 06 flywheel set ups but what to use/ drill new hole ?
08 head with 08 rocker shaft or 06 rocker shaft ?
06 wiring harness with 06 gauge and electrics?
I have the following also if needed but would prefer to use the above as there machined ready to go,
08 block (NA)
08 wiring harness, gauge and electrics.
any help would be appreciated !!

06 and 08 cranks are the same. 06 and 08 rocker shaft is the same. 08 wire harness is cleaner and compatible with the 06 sensors.

So I would need to use 08 ecu with 08 harness and 06 ecu with 06 harness ?

Thanks BD !
going to use -
08 crank and internals
08 head with 08 rocker arm
08 harness,ecu and gauge.
forgot to mention the harness is off a 08 gti (NA).
ill get the ecu flashed and use an 06 throttle body. will this work still ? was thinking wiring may need to be extended to suit the throttle body in the rear location but is there anything else I'm missing ?..
