    VX110 Air Intake

    Hi,

Going to do the Air Intake on my VX110 everywhere I've read suggests a 4" kanaflex tube, however the pipe on my VX only seems to be about 65mm, is there anyone out there who has done this mod to their VX can tell me the size pipe you used please.

    Any info greatly received.

If you can shove the pod filter over the TB, do that. IIRC I think I actually used the oem piping that went into the box and shoved it over the pod filter. Then built a bracket from some scrap sheet metal.

Nice to see some other ski's out there besides sc. Not taking away from your work but them plastic zip ties are not going to hold to well. I would go with SS ones. I bought a pack from Walmart for like 4$ to hold my filter up higher.

Zip ties add .01 mph for each one you use. I think you should add a few more.

Did you remove the ribbon filter as well?

Also those hose clamps that attach the cooling and the siphon/bilge are looking a big worn. If those ones are in that shape, I'd consider buying a box of 25 and replacing every other one. Me personally, I remove the motor to replace them ALL, however, you can all but 2 without pull the engine. I also get a paint brush and paint red n tacky grease on them all afterwards, and will reapply every few Months as needed.

Did u cut into the divider in front compartment to get u more air ? In pic it looks like u just shoved huge filter above fuel tank. If u dont make a way for more air to get in that is defeating the purpose.

Yeah, you'll want to do add a few holes to let more air in. I hate to suggest it, but removing that cowling is going to be the best way for you to get nice clean holes drilled. I'll look and see today. I didn't do pod filters on my skis as they flip upside down way too often and I don't want to risk hydrolock, but you could consider shimming the seat as well for better cooling.
