    08 Kawasaki ultra 250x issue

So I signed on to google at work this morning and noticed a few people from a forum have watched my videos. One of the commets I didn't understand and would like to fix on the ski if need be was this. Cavitating pretty bad off the line. If you get this fixed it will greatly improve your consistancy.. What's your input on this? It does feel like it sucking up air or something and sounds like it at well when I hammer the throttle down. What can i purchase for the least amount of money to fix this?

I was the one that wrote that. On that video especially you banged the limiter a few times before you took off. Being a bracket drag racer you do not want that. I heard it hit the limiter different times in each video. That in itself will alter your reaction times.
Impeller tuning will fix it. I can look around my shop and see if I still have the 250 impeller we were using for CC racing. It would grab water and go off the line.

If you watch my videos and pay attention to the sound of the ski when I leave the line it does not hit the limiter. Go back to your video and you will hear what I was talking about which you obviously do know is happening mentioning that you hear what sounds like sucking up air out the hole.

Was the stock impeller the best in your opinion? I have the 16/21 and I too hit the limiter 2-3 times on a start like that

no. I was running a custom pitched Solas. Nothing special just one that was tuned to the ski. It was a rocket out the hole. For a 250 that is . HAHAHA
Actually had two of them. That ski was very tempremental in different temperatures

I did complete stage 1 and prop minus the intake grate at same time. Good gains but still cavitated

The OEM impeller is tuff to easily and properly pitch. Also the Solas are less expensive. So while we were testing different modifications we were doing to them it hurt but not as much as ruining a oem one.

Ryan, also running your ski when it is cavitating like that you are going to kill your impeller and pump liner. I would bet you have cavitation pits in both. The cavitating will only continue to get worse.
