    Cool Crank seals

What are the best crank seals for 951 silver engines.
Looks like WSM, SBT,an most of the gasket guys have them, Hot roducts kits?

Anyone had better results with any type ?

I have Yamahas in my fleet. Whenever I have replaced seals I've always gone with OEM. I just figure the cost savings from WSM or other after-market seals is not worth having an air leak and burndown.

The SBT kits i have received had nice Viton double lip type seals, i cannot complain about them at all. Comparable, if not better than seadoo OEM.

I've used literally hundreds of WSM and Jetlyne seals with no issues at all.

There's really not enough cost difference to complain about when building an engine. If the oem's are readily available then use them. If you decide to go aftermarket, don't lose any sleep over it, they will be fine too. The OEMS don't make their own seals or gaskets, they are made at another factory and bought by the oem's.

Then tell me why everybody (except you, I hope ) disses SBT for their 'substandard parts'??

Edit added - not trying to start a pissing match here, just food for thought

I'm not really sure? I've used A BUNCH of their stuff without ever any issues. I believe a lot of the bad stuff you read about is written by sub-standard mechanics who don't pay close attention to detail and find the root of the problem in the first place. I'm sure with the sheer mass volume of pats output from SBT there will be failures. I just haven't had it happen to me.
