    Too tall for STX 15F?

    Hi guys,

Brand new poster, but have been reading a lot of great posts on this site for the last little while.

I've never owned a PWC before, so I'm looking to join the fun.

My PWC will be used on the lake, mainly for family fun as I have 2 smaller kids.

I've narrowed the choice down to the 2014 STX 15F, or the 2013 VX Deluxe. The price is the same.

I love the looks of the Kawi and the extra HP. However, the more reviews I read, the more I see "tall riders should stay away".

I'm 6'0 190 pds, and don't really consider myself that tall or big. But I've read a "ton" of posts and professional reviews were guys say anyone over 5'10" will find the Kawi crammed or a bit uncomfortable.

I quickly hopped on one at the boat show, but really paid no attention to it as I was busy talking to the sales rep and yelling at my kids to stop horsing around...LOL

Any honest thoughts or suggestions would be great. Both PWC's are great by all accounts, but I just want to make sure I'm not kicking myself after an hour on the lake because my back is killing and my knees are up against the bar...

    Thanks!

Dont worry about it. If its comfortable for you thays all that matters. Keep in mind the people saying those things are probably used to the giant barges that pass as personal watercraft these days.

15F. I ride with vxr's and VX deluxes and they bounce all over the lake 15F is definitely a more comfortable ride. If you want the fastest NA ski you can get, the VXR. But the VX is not good in rough water. The 15F still isn't as good as my 300 in rough seas, but good luck finding a ski that is

I'm 6'1 and 190lbs also and bought a 2014 15F a few weeks ago. I haven't taken delivery yet but have rode a friends 15F on lake michigan for hours and it's fine. I bias towards to all Kawi products so take it for what it's worth. Yamaha makes great motors so you'll be good either way you go.
Out of curiosity, what was the OTD price they offered you?

guess it could have been worse. lmao. Dealer said it's should be in sometime in Feb. Not that it really matters since we have 6" of snow on the ground and getting another 8" tomorrow.

I am 6' 2" and owned a 15F for a few years . . . I did not find the Ski "cramped". It's a pretty good "first" Ski. It does not have the latest technology or superior ride in the rough that some of the latest craft have. But for what you are describing this Ski will fit the bill just fine. JB
