2008 rxpx fuel strainer(s) | need part number

I will be upgrading my fuel pump and figured I might as well replace the fuel strainer while I am in there.

I have searched the forum for the Airtex or Wix Filter Part Number with no luck.

Here is the diagram of what I am looking for? Do they make an aftermarket fuel strainer or do I need to get it from BRP? Lastly, is there a second strainer that is not pictured?

    Thanks Guys!

    Mark

On my 04 RXP there are two filters the one shown on the parts diagram and one inside at the bottom of the cylinder assembly that is only accessable by removing the fuel pump. I used Airtex FS220 for the one in the cylinder and Airtex FS242 for the external filter.

Since yours is an 08 things may be different.

A lot of the replacement fuel pumps come with new socks. I don't know about what you're buying or what you'll get if you buy one sold from a PWC store.

Why do you want to replace it? does a fine job and you only need to replace it after a long time. It will turn yellow and basically burn up the pump when it's bad

I am basically upgrading my fuel pump and will have it out ... since it has almost 60 hours on it might as well put a new one in and prolong "burning up" my brand new fuel pump. Since it equates to approx $12, it might as well be done.

This is part of my "Go Fast Itch" ... I gotta scratch it Bro!!!

I've pulled out 250k mile filters from grand prixs that were just needing to be replaced. I wouldn't concern yourself with it.

I sent an email over to Airtex customer service asking them if they know what part number it is, if they even make it.

@ Kaybat - the thread only has the part numbers for the 07 and older ... I have looked several times.

    @ imp0ster - my OCD won't let me stop ... :S

And I am sure there are others with '08's with 200+ hours by now who could benefit from knowing the part numbers.

    We'll figure it out!

Well, I'll keep looking .... Anyone know who else might make these? Or is it one of those unique BRP parts?

    Mark,

Good afternoon. Unfortunately we do not have a strainer that looks like that. I would say that was made to exclusively fit that fuel pump module by the OE fuel pump manufacturer. I would also believe that there is another one inside of the module on the end of the fuel pump but I can’t be sure without being able to see inside.

If there is anything else I can help you with please feel free to call or email me.

    Thanks Shane

Hopefully Airtex will come through I doubt it's a Seadoo only part.

Pic is the filters that came out of the RXP, small one is internal, large one is the external one on the bottom of the pump / sender unit.
