Real Review: Slippery Rev Side-Entry Vest

So far, we’ve had nothing but great things to say about Slippery’s products in our weekly “Real Reviews” section, and for good reason. Slippery, part of the Parts Unlimited family and younger sibling to motocross gear and apparel maker Thor, uses nothing but the best materials, molds and stitching to provide the utmost comfort and durability to its product lineup.

The chest and back are broken up by “breaks” in the foam allowing a rider to bend and twist, as well as ride seated on their runabout without the vest bunching up.

That's a good question which required a bit of investigating. As a USCG-approved Type III PFD, it fell under the following federal definition: "STRENGTH TESTED AT 50 MPH (22.4 m/s) - NOT TESTED FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION FROM IMPACT." And because it has three types of closure, it would be acceptable for personal water craft, waterskiing or similar towed uses.

I was trying not to be harsh but I guess discretion isn't my strong suit... At least I threw in a smiley!

No, no. There's no apology needed. I write pretty fast and sometimes stuff like that slips through the cracks.

Nice vest, just wish it wasn't made from Neoprene...Seems like all the good fitting vest have that material.

How warm did you get while wearing the vest?

I have an old SeaDoo pull over vest, similar to the Fly racing unit ( http://www.parkeryamaha.com/producti...y13/221140.jpg )that snaps on both sides. Its made from standard material....Had it for years, but I have been in the market for a newer one...

Funny, I would much rather wear a neoprene vest than vinyl. Vinyl is the height of uncomfortable, especially once it's been aged and bleached by the elements. Yuck!

The vest didn't heat me up badly at all. It breathes really well.
