Thread: Intercooler question

My intercooler failed and I had it replaced under warranty at a Sea Doo shop. But the new one is about 2 inches shorter front to back so it's smaller than the original intercooler. Anyone know what year this new intercooler is?

Whats year is it and do you have the Part number on the new one?

all intercooler are replaced with the new smaller size, which is not very good, from the ski in you avatar looks like you have a rxtx 260 2010, it may have had the larger intercooler like the 08 and 09, with the new style you may see more heat fade, the older style is more like the riva gen3 and had a lower temperature down and less heat fade

Yank that i/c and put in a 08-09 x cooler...
Or a good after market i/c.
The doo replacement i/c are failing also...
Just my .02

The 14 production has not been proven or has failed yet. There has been failures of earlier intercoolers and even the 08 ones have failed. Most in saltwater. Remember when riva released there first gen intercooler, everybody had to have one it was the shit. Well it turned out to be a piece of shit. Then gen 2, now gen 3. Just because Bombardier uses the same part # does not mean it is the same production run intercooler. There are thousands of intercoolers out there that are OE and hundreds of hours of use without issues. They work for stock skis and yes some will fail, just like anything metal that touches water. Water will destroy anything. I think Seadoo should reroute the cooling lines so the intercooler can get more or all ( first before the exhaust manifold) water instead of being teed off from the incoming water line from the pump and better flushing system for the intercooler. Just my two cents

maybe a sacrificial replaceable anode on the inlet might help from factory along with the ride plate one
