    Matrix Project

Many of you already know I have picked a Matrix project boat. It is mostly complete, just missing a few things.

    Plans so far:

    1. Clean it up.
    2. Go through every single piece of it and make sure its up to my standards.
    3. Glue the top deck on.
    4. Jettrim seat
    5. New Hydroturf mats. I have to decide on a color. I really like the 2 tone mats on my X45
    6. I will be adding a bilge pump, or maybe even 2, just in case. Depth finder as well. I like knowing what is underneath me. Where I ride on Lake Michigan is shallow and rocky in areas, and the water is so clear you can't tell if its 2 feet or 10 feet deep by looking.

I like the darker silver on silver color scheme, but I plan to add 1 more color to the mix. I really like the metallic red offered on the 2003 MSX 140, so I am going to do something similar to the hood, mirrors and grab handle.

The boat already has V Force reeds in it. Eventually I will do a UMI steering setup. I have a trim system here from a GPR, so I will do that eventually as well.

2004 ride plate is sitting in my garage, that will go on.

I think the gentlemen in New York have a little something up their sleeve for me to try out, so I am anxious to see what that is. Sounds like it may be a set of Sharps Marine ported cylinders.

My goal for this boat is to have a good reliable kind of rec boat that runs 70 MPH on pump gas, and looks damn good doing it.

Such a dilemma. What do I go with for traction mats? I can't decide what would look best. The stock ones actually look pretty good, but Im looking for a little more. I love the 2 tone mats on my X 45, Im thinking maybe Gray on black 2 tone.

i really like the look of the straight bars in two tone. i will be going with that style in orange/black on the GTR. im not to concerned with fading since the ski is stored in the garage.

the diamond pattern is hypnotic LOL but cool

    Im leaning toward the groove.

With the orange you are considering, even if its stored inside it will fade. I bought a set of red mats for a ski I rebuilt. It was stored either inside or under a cover, and they had faded to pink within a month. I would be careful of the bright colors. Changing mats is a royal pain. Im lucky to be starting with a ski that has no mats installed.

Have u used the self adhesive ones? They really work well. At first I was skeptical, but it really does work and its a much easier and nicer install.

The self adhesive ones are the only way to go. Easier install and the glue is crazy strong.
