Manatee River / Bradenton FL Area

Hi - Planning trip down that way, looking at local map of the Manatee River - any one have experience going up it? Looks like the whole thing is a slow zone?

    Regards

Interesting. What is a slow zone? Looks like only 1 no wake though.

Manatee river is limited on speed, for the first few miles from the mouth it is not posted as to the speed allowed so we just cruise. After you go under the interstate it starts the 25 mph in the channel. There is a small area in this zone that states resume normal and this is the wakeboard/ski zone that allow full speed. About 13 miles up river when you pass Ft Hammer park it turns into slow speed the rest of the way to the damn. It is a nice cruising ride and just on the east side of the I-75 interstate on the north shore is Woody's river roo which has perfect ski parking.

Thanks, I am really looking forward to the runs. We have been cruising the big bend area for years, time for something new.

If you make FL a regular trip, my site has dang near 1K miles of trails in Central & South FL. Just take a little time to research them, and - as always - the downloads are free. Just load up the GPS, then splash n dash...
