    Good Used Ski?

First post here. Great forum with lots of information. After lurking for a while and searching all the topics available I just bought a used 2012 300x with 9 hours and 3.5 years left on the factory warranty.

So, I'm looking for a 2nd ski to be used by others, including some younger kids. What would be a good basic ski primarily for lake use and a bit of riding on Puget Sound? Looking to spend 4k or less. Just looking for a ski with great reliability. 4 stroke preferred. I know this is the Kawasaki side but would consider all makes.

    Thanks!

12f or 15f are about the perfect ski for a second ski.

    Seadoo gti.
    Yamaha vx
    All are great affordable skis.
Just compression test and ride it before you buy...

Thanks. Looking at all options. There's an '05 Honda R-12 with about 15 hours on it that looks perfect. Talked to the owner and he says they bought it new but stopped using when wife took a spill. Has all records including winterizing, etc. Pictures are perfect. It's the nicest used ski from Vancouver to Portland but I'm a bit hesitant because they're not made anymore. Any thoughts?

Considering a new Spark but after dealer set up and all, a new $5000 ski is $6500 or so OTD. I can get a very nice used something or other for less than that.

A few 2007 VX's out here with approx. 250 hours for 4k+ but that's more hours than I'd like.

And, of course, looking at the Kawasaki's. Most are either late 90's or recent skis going for more than I'd like to spend.

I would look into an older yamaha vx.

15F is the best balance of performance and safety IMO. Like Benjahw said, the Ultra LX is also a great ski for kids. Great range, great in the rough, lots of storage, etc. only downside is it might get boring to them.It don't have near the holeshot of the 300. Lol
I wouldn't recommend a VX because They bounce all over the water in any chop at all.
