    785 pro wear ring removal?

what is the quickest way to get the wear ring off?
I have taken all the nuts and pump stuff off and it will not budge,

Do I have to remove the ride plate to get something like a screwdriver wedged in between the wear ring and hull?

I finally got the engine fired up with the new reed petals and the new gaskets in the carburetors, it sounds good, revs up good,

I guess it was just the combination of the reed petals being cracked and the carb gaskets being dried and stiff,

2 x 4 between the ride plate and start rocking it

On my pro 1200 if I remember correctly, I put a board or something across the back of the hull and used the long pump bolts to pull it off.

I pulled the ride plate and was able to get it off that way,

When I tried prying with a 2 x 4 it sounded like my ride plate was going to pull out of the screws,
