What's the best way to clean up journals? I am in the process of rebuilding and I'm thinking I should clean these up. Or is that not necessary?

No problem, use some hot water and blow them dry with some compressed air....

    Thanks.
one more question, my repair manual says the final torque for the case bolts is 20 ft lbs, but the engine mounting brackets the bolt to the bottom if engine call for 38 ft lbs? Is this correct? Would the greater torque on the brackets throw off the case bolt torque?
