So I kept breaking hose clamps.

So anywho.....last summer when I finished my Pro in July everything really went very smooth with only a like two problems.

    1. Spring that wraps around the pto crank seal broke off!! WTF??? Everything seems fine, and kinda forgot about that issue till I found the spring in my portable tool box that I finally unloaded from last summer.

    2. And the main problem... I kept breaking one of my damn hose clamps on one of the exhaust manifold to pipe joint. It was very annoying, and kind of a messy deal. Was blowing carbon filled oily $hit all over the place.
Since I had installed all of my parts out of my '97 into this '00 hull (which had the stock pipe mounts removed), I kind of assumed my front two pipe mounts needed to be redone and maybe they were 1/4" too far forward. Thought this cause i could see a gap between the pipe and the rubber hose connector. Just think, ok, pipe is too far forward and is causing flex or something.

Well, tonite i finally get to pulling everything to get it figured out and think i found the problem.

On the problem pipe, I found a bunch of pieces of rubber o-ring all busted up between exhaust manifold and the short rubber hose connector.

Does it make sense that this O-ring got pushed back and chewed up when I installed the pipe, and just didnt make a good seal??

I think it is my problem, and think my mounts are in fact fine.

So i will order 6 all new o-rings and install them after the pipes are made pretty again

Yes if the O-Rings are sealing you should not see oily-gook in the coupler. The coupler is only there to hold the pipes together.
