    Greetings to all....New to site.

Just did a crank-up rebuild on a 'skatterd" 1200pv engine. All seems good, but the reed petels seem somewhat soft/loose. should they be tight against the reed body/cage or soft on there opening, stock reed petels......

Welcome and someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you want the reed petals to be tight against the reed block to seal off the intake tract.

A slight opening shows they're worn. Mine still ran fine with the reeds slightly worn but while doing a rebuild why not do it right and replace all parts in need of replacement. Ive learned the hard way, don't slack off during a rebuild.
