Did my nearly free mods today!

Thanks to Tommy Jordan for "inventing" this! And let me tell you, if I can do this anybody can. I'm quite mechanically disinclined.

The mod means taking off the resonator:

Then cutting off the unnecessary part:

Insert the $1 Home Depot plug:

This is what the compartment looks like with that part of the exhaust system removed. You can see where each end goes.

    And here it is re-installed:

And here is the difference in sound. Hopefully we will get out on the water tomorrow to see how well it works!

And while I was at it, I went ahead and plugged the spout. But in a slightly different way than was recommended by some of you.

Thanks! Luckily we each have the exact same ski so the comparison was easy. I'll see if she'll let me "fix" hers after we have a nice water test done.

I noticed in one of your pictures you still have the two rubber pump flaps on your ski around the pump housing , don't forget to take them off also. Tommy Jordan

I only had to remove the two bolts and let it flop while I did the plug, so I just put it back up. What would be the reason to remove them? And do I remove both sides or just the one?

It lets the exhaust flow out better and you can wash around the pump aea better with a hose pipe when cleaning your ski. Yes remove both haves. Tip for you: After you go for a ride go back and check all hose clamps you had off to be sure they are tight.Tommy Jordan
