How to change drive line through hull bushings?

Hi everyone, new member long time reader of the Hulk..

I'm finishing up an engine overhaul on a 1996 SLT 700 (thanks to everyone for sharing great knowledge ,

I used a lot of that info on the electrical system along with the service manual to get through the rebuild and actually just got the engine running tonight!

Now I want to replace the through hull bearings and seals but was wondering if there are any 'tricks' out there to remove those bearings without damaging the bearing holder?

I did verify that I have the bearing/holder type that can be rebuilt (not crimped) and I have access to either a press or screwdriver, whichever is the tool of choice. Any advice on this task would be truly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Dan

    Welcome

Do you want to only change the drive shaft seals or also change the metal bushings inside the through-hull assembly?

Both inner bushings (right, not bearings as I stated) and the drive shaft seals... Bay City, MI for Keddano..
    Thanks!

Just push the bearings out and slide new ones in. Its pretty easy to do.

Thanks Bryan.. I ended up using a small flat end punch and popped them out from the back side.. Once broke loose, they came right out.. I was just worried about damaging the inside where the bushing sits, but no problem, off to installation...
    Cheers, Dan
