    07 Rxp Hull damage/ Rebuild

    Hey guys,

Im fairly new to the hulk and ive been reading up on tons of threads that have great info. I thought id share with you the unfortunate problem i ran into last year and some pictures. My rxp at the time had about 60 hours on her and not a single scratch on the bottom. I am not the original owner but i knew him and he had never beached or abused the ski at all! I was riding Corsins Inlet for all of you from South Jersey, Hitting a couple of good waves with some buddies and there it happened. My hull began to de-laminize. Starved of resin! one stress crack and it didnt take much to the damage to multiply! I brought her home and immediatly built a stand to flip her. Hopefully be back out this summer!

Unfortunately Ive never tried my hand at fiberglass and gel coat before. I perfer to work more on the engine side. So i sent the ski off to get the work done. I want to get it repaired right the first time so this never happens again. They said this is a common problem can anyone else relate? After it comes home shes getting some mods.. Ill post some more pictures later

Sorry to see your nice looking ski in that shape. I hope the shop that's working on it does a great job for you at a reasonable price.

It's going to be cheaper to replace the hull. Good luck!

If dropping off shop yes but if doing it yourself at home save $$$ I did twice. First one was polaris slth that tree were fell on front hull and spilt her really bad the shop told me it's totaled and cost way too much to repair so I took to home and use 2x2 wood cut into about foot to hold the hull while I fix it and been two years she held pretty well not even noticeable unless u open the front hull and look inside. The second was kawasaki that has bad spilt on bottom hull u know the rest story lol. wish y'all luck on project and that red rxp is my dream machine I always love the red and the way rxp side graphic
