    How bad is this?

I know it's not good, and i'm hoping I don't have to look for a donor ski or completely scrap this one, but i'm not sure this one can be brought back. Head is getting sent out to Chris once everything else on the ski is buttoned up, the block....

Head will come up nice with new valves etc. Bores most likley pitted so may get away with a next size piston on rebuild.

If it locked up then check rods for straitness.

luckily the motor's not locked up, when i first brought it home it turned over fine ( just no combustion for obvious reasons). I didn't see/feel any pitting on the sidewalls , it seems like there was enough carbon/fuel build up to somewhat keep the rust off. There's some debris on the walls but i'm not sure if that'll scrape off through normal operation or not.

why are there chips missing from the top deck of the cylinder wall. 10 over should clean it up. You'll need new bearings for sure if the cylinders look like that

^^ scared the crap out of me, hah, those chips are just left over gasket material i haven't scraped off yet.

Do you mean .10 over pistons and rod bearing replacement? Man this thing is going to be expensive.... I may have to get the block built locally since it'll be too costly to send it away.

I'm wondering what will happen if I slap a new built head on this block ( cleaned up a bit) and run it.

to doo it properly you will need a full set of bearings , oversize pistons, oil pump gears, rod bolts , head bolts , cam sprocket bolts , flywheel bolts, full gasket kit , valves, rocker shaft bolts and a full pocket of $$$$$ . good luck with your rebuild ..

You would be way better off buying a second hand motor like the one two posts above, will be far more expensive building yours. You could not just slap the head on that block.
