Safe set up?? X Charger RXP

I'm looking at installing a freshly rebuilt X Charger in my stock RXP. Can I do this without swapping the injectors? What are the main differences between my ski and the 255? I'm running 87 octane.

If you keep the OEM Brass IC, then you need 42# injectors...

The 255 RXP-X has an external IC, and 42# injectors. The duty cycle of the injectors on the P-X is different than the 215 RXP, so you would need to bump to 48's if you added an external IC...

Either way, you need to monitor your AFR's before you start tossing more boost...

87 octane is a problem altogether. Step up to 91 or 93 if available. It will keep everything cleaner and ward off any detonation that might occur due to poor fuel quality.

IF he goes to an external IC he can still use the 42s,BUT will need a RRFPR...48s will be WAY to rich at idle and low RPMs with a stock ECU.

If your rxp has the stock prop, you will need either a 14/19 or 15/20 prop to support the extra hp. I believe with either prop you will most likely need to re-pitch it to get your rpms where you will want it.

he will never spin a 15/20. a 14/19 will get to about 8K assuming the rings aren't worn and it's making proper power everywhere.

I did the 14/19, x charger and 42s on my buddies 07 last year (all take-offs from mine) and the ski runs like my old set-up. It runs 8000 in 85 degree water, no issues with prop, actually just sent out the charger for a 100hr service. It is the best bang-for-the-buck charger upgrade.

We also dont get the humidity here in canada which i have read makes a bit of a difference. I am by no means an expert, I have been reseaching this myself because i am also interested in adding a x charger/et127 but would like to get away with my 14/19 if i did...
