    2011 300 LX only pulling 7400 RPM ?? any ideas ??

    Guys any ideas. I have a 2011 300 LX kawi . revs off the line to about 7650 then after 6 seconds cuts back to 7400 Approx 64-65 mph. I know they cut back as they are limited, But Im sure they rev out to about 78-7750 RPM- around 68 mph. its got 60 hours on it been in salt a bit too. Hopefully its something simple
    Prop is all good, Comp around 160 PSI each hole. was boosting up to around 13 PSI

    I would start with inspecting the boost system for leaks, and also inspect and clean the intercooler if necessary.

    Hope you find your speed loss quickly.

    My New 2011 300x, only has 9 hrs on it now (only had it out 3 times since getting it a month ago) also maxes out at about 7600 rpm. I had it out 2 days ago, on smooth as glass water top speed 64 mph, then rpm cut back to about 7400 and speed down to 62-63 mph. Speeds are via speedo as I don't have a gps yet, so can't verify accuracy of speedo.

    Speedos wrong bottom line no matter if you're looking at current speed or max speed
    stored. If you don't have a scom, depending on the weather, your not far off on rpms.... With only 9hrs its hard to suggest check your exhaust filter but your ICer could very well have an oil mess already

    No scom, pure stock. Weather the other day was 72*F air temp and 60*F water temp, low humidity and no wind. I may check IC. But, I wasn't that worried about it, figuring that I would see what speed I get via GPS when I finally decide on one. Then I saw this post with the OP getting the same rpm and speed on his used Ultra 300 as I have been getting on my new 2011 ultra 300. If he had a problem, it made me question if maybe I do, even though I thought that I was content with how it was performing.

    I had this problem aswell, my supercharger belt was slipping

    1. Check exhaust filter
    2. Clean intercooler
    3. Make sure no water leaks causing the belt to slip

    Start with these 3 steps then see how you go.

    Thanks Guys. I have replaced little Exhaust(Cat converter looking Cone)-as it was rusted totally out and fallen down exhaust towards rear. Interesting no change in power. I did have similar issue with belt slipping on a 260x a few years ago. Was actually my own fault. I should have kept the WD40 away from that area. A little tighten up on the belt fixed it actually had to go over factory specs on tightening a little to keep boost up. I see the seadoos are having lots of problems with I Coolers and salt water use. This could be a good area to check.
