    Watch out when gasing up

Fraud on my bank account has wiped me out and the assholes told me 7-10 business days to get my money back. Started after I gased up my car and they started pulling $100 increments out in a part of fucking FL I don't live in on the hour every hour and somehow it didn't throw up any flags. This went on for 3 days. Do the math. It's no small amount.

I was on hold for 2 hours with some bastard that barely spoke english

    yowza,

sorry to hear man, I've went through this before but luckily my bank (wellsfargo) caught on fairly quick. Sucks none the less, but now its prompted me to use my credit card more and not use my debit anywhere anymore. There's been a lot of credit card fraud going on lately so hopefully everyone can safeguard their identity somehow. goodluck and hopefully you get your monies back soon!

That sucks. Be carefull paying at the pump. My wife knows someone that found one of the card readers on a pump a couple months ago seems like in the last 6 months this has been happening alot in our area. Was it this scam? Or the gas station that did it? Was it your bank that you talked to on the phone?

Yep. I tend to pick stores right off of 19. That one sits back off the road a little. In my mind the busier stores are harder for criminals to temper with unoticed.

I always grab the card reader and pull on it ans try to see if it will come off or move before I put my card in if it is a shady part of town or gas station...

    Sorry for your luck!!!!

On another note, I got charged $800 to my debit card a few years ago for 3 hotel rooms I didnt stay in!!!!! Put me well into the negative and then everything I bought there after bounced...Pissed me off!!!!

Time for a new bank. I had a similar problem. My money was replaced the same day while they investigated my claim. I recieved my new card 2 days later.

Happened to me too when I opened a tab at the bar w/ my debit card. They emptied my account on computer parts from newegg.com (I'm not a computer geek, and had never heard of the site)

Wellsfargo refunded every cent, no questions asked

I rarely use my debit card these days, for this reason alone. Stick with a CC backed by a good bank and they stand behind it. Last year, somebody in Germany used my card, somehow, to buy FIFA tickets, over $2k worth. Called BOA and the transactions were reversed immediately.
