Has anybody installed a reboarding ladder before?

I got a 2013 seadoo GTI last year and I am thinking about buying a reboarding ladder for in because it didn't come factory installed. How hard is the installation? Is it easily done at home or does the dealer have to install it?

    Thanks

I installed the OEM optional boarding ladder on my 2010 T-X in less than an hour by myself. Mock it up, mark six holes, drill & tap, install bolts, add sealant, done. There is a steel plate in the transom that must be tapped, which is good for strength.

Very easy to accomplish and absolutely necessary to board the ski!

I did my 08 TX. I used one of the Aqua Performance steps, but it installed just like JPT said.

Where does the sealant go? Around the two brackets, or in the holes that are drilled?

My gtr hull is the same as your gti,no tapping or plates required. Simply mark the 6 holes, drill, add silicon to the supplied screws and done. The most time consuming part for me is measuring/marking the holes. I bet I measured 20 times....don't wanna make a mistake drilling into the hull.

I guess it depends if you are using an OEM ladder or aftermarket regarding tapping the steel plate INSIDE the transom. I have used the aqua performance brand steps for a 2005 GTX, and 2 2008 RXT-X's and all 3 had the steel plate in the transom, which is why I brought it up. My 2010 T-X definitely has a steel plate in the transom. I don't know about the 2013 GTI…….

Sealant simply goes into and around the holes you drill.

Bottom line, order the boarding ladder and install it yourself.

Ok thanks, I just ordered the Seadoo ladder today and it will be here by Tuesday. It shouldn't be too hard.

Really weird...We have been installing steps for many years and never seen a plate in the transom??? Never taped anything..Just drilled the holes and installed the screws.
