    Stator pump/ Jet pump question??

I have a 97 sl780 with a 148mm jet pump and 5 vane stator.... The stator vanes are all chipped and i'm searching around to find something that will fit. Has annoyed tried using a 6 vane ss genesis pump??? Or should i just search for a stock sl pump that is not beat??? From what I have found on the forum people say that an extra vane and ss is definitely a solid benefit but new they cost $$$

    Any suggestions would be AWESOME!

Sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question, (first ski I've owned and in the middle of a winter rebuild project)

6 vane is definitely a good upgrade. I have a good 5 vane with newer bearings and seals available. PM me if interested......

6 vane is usually good for another 1.5 mph on most machines

The SS 6 vane stator also is quite a bit heavier (in weight), but will take more abuse. be sure to replace all the rubber O-ring seals when you are replacing the stator and berrings. A thin bead of RTV around the cone lip to seal it doesn't hurt either.

not sure if the mph gain is in smooth water or rough water.my tx is faster with a 6 vs 8 vane setup on the river.gonna see if the 5 vane will boost the 700 virage speed a hair, seeing as i never had a good one to try before.to answer the question from the op,can't go wrong with a 6 vane.if other people ride it the 6 vane will take more abuse.
