Replace Power Trim with Manual
I have a 95 STS 750. The trim quit working. I got the motor unstuck but there is something else wrong, probably the control module. After reading how lousy that system is I am thinking about converting it using a motorcycle grip throttle or lever. It seems pretty straight forward except I am wondering about the force needed to move the nozzle under power. I'm thinking a spring to pull it down and use the grip/lever to pull it up. Has anyone out there ever done this?

Of course, Yamaha has used manual trim for years. Don't know how difficult it would be to install the trim from an old Waverunner.
I've fixed a couple of the STS trim boxes, what exactly is it doing? Did you disassemble the motor? Did you take the cover off of the worm gear and clean it out inside? Did you check the motor magnets to make sure they didn't come loose in the housing?
