    MSX windshield

Im looking for the windshield for a MSX. Must be as close to perfect as possible. Minor fogging or blurriness would be ok as long as its not severely scratched or cracked. If it will polish out to like new condition I would be interested. If anyone has the mounting bolts for it too that would be great. I am missing those as well.

Try craigslist Tampa Fl there is a guy parting out a MSX 140 that runs.

The 2003 and 2004 versions are slightly different.

Edit: Oct 23, 2003 and prior production have a darker grey color. I do not recall whether this was the thicker version or the thinner version :

There is a thicker plastic in one style, and smoked vs chromed. Going from memory on this, there may have been some others too.

5434974-412 Windshield, Smoked Grey [If built before 10/23/03]
5435307-466 Windshield, Smoked Clear [If built after 10/23/03]

    Update:
Apparently the early 2003 version is the thicker type.

The chrome was not stock as far as I know. I want a very good condition smoked windshield. If I could find a new one I would buy it.

I have a whole yellow 04' hood in the trailer out back, I'll check condition & get back to you.

Let me know. I may even be interested in the whole hood if its not too expensive.

I was pondering changing our MSX 140 smoked glare shroud to something custom that would better support and accommodate a mounted GPS display.

The stock curved cover seems to mostly be a fashion thing. Indeed the entire upper hood is, including that NGI display housing.

When riding, the best place for a roomy GPS screen is right where that cover is but the stock cover is completely the wrong shape.

I thought about also mounting a camera mount to the custom cover but the whole hood shakes and shimmies too much with engine vibration.

    Keith

Did you see how I mounted the gps on my MSX? It worked beautifully and its all done without drilling any holes. My Go Pro is mounted to the windshield and does not vibrate except at speeds just above idle which is normal for all the 1200s

I did see your GPS mounting, but I wanted my GPS higher and farther forward.

Probably be a bigger GPS screen unit for me, which probably means heavier.

Here is the link for future reference to your GPS mounting.
