Thumbs up Lets talk about 4stroke engine's oil

I have several doubts about what oil to use on my 1.8 SHO.
There's many different types of Yamalube (all for 4stroke engines):

    5w30
    10w30
    10w40
    15w40

Could someone explain what's the better one; The differences between one each others; Why there's not just one yamalube for all 4stroke engines?
My doubt could be someone's else doubt too. Thank you

The only one Yamaha advises is actually the yamalube mineral 10w-40 4w. But anything that matches the specs in 10w-40 weight would be fine. I would recommend amsoil 10w-40 pwc 4 stroke synthetic. On the Greenhulk.net site in the top banner ads there is a link for it that donates a certain amount to the forum.

Thank you! But its easier and better for me to buy Yamalube because i can find it in many places here in Portugal..
I've never heard about Amsoil because isnt that popular around here, but im sure it has pretty good products.

Well.. In Portugal it works as a normal tax.. like the cars.

This are the things that a portuguese SHO owner got to pay p/ year:

    Maintenance ~ 150.00 Eur/205.00 USD
    Circulation Tax ~ 400.00 Eur/550.00 USD
    Another tax ~ 7.00 Eur /10.00 USD
    Insurance ~ 500.00 Eur / 690.00 USD
(not sure about the values, but are pretty close to these ones)

    That really sucks.....
What is the maintenance tax for?
Does that maintain boat ramps and docks?

Maintenance is not a tax, its a normal cost for a pwc owner.. (oil change, filters, etc..)

Oh, i forgot to talk about the marine/dock..
Where i usually ride the SHO, i have a yacht there.. for the yacht, i pay anual marine fee, like a garage to the yacht.
BTW, i have to pay the same thing for the yacht, which is: circualation tax, insurance..................
    Whatever
