    FX140 questions

    Hey guys,
I should be the proud? owner of a non running fx140 later today. Do these swell the pump liners like I've read some others do? Apparently it was going fine a couple of.months ago, and he went to start it the other day and it just wouldn't turn over. We will see.

What's the difference between the 140 and the 160?

Yes they do. My FX140 I had first made noise then the next time outer barely cranked because of it.

Haha yeah I'm well aware that's what they all say. I'm not too worried even if I have to pull the motor down.

Thanks Mowerpan, I have my fingers crossed that's what the problem is!

Ok so I ended up buying it! Garage is completely full so had to pull down my side fence and put it in the backyard, so I get to work on it outside. Got the pump out, some part of it is seized. Its 11 at night here so that's as far as I got. Taking the pump to work tomorrow, have to get all the bits separated, they seem quite stuck together, is this normal?

Got the pump apart with help from the press. Liner is swollen in 2 places.

How tight should the pump bearing be to turn? They seem tight to me compared to my doo pump? There is no water in there and the grease and rear bearing that I can see look nice and clean.

By tight I mean I can't turn it by the driveshaft with my hand, but can turn it by using the prop.
