1992 SL650 with modded head. Where to find o rings?

Ok, The deal is, I bought this boat along with 2 X-2's and a trailer. Honestly, the X-2's and the really nice triple trailer are what I was interested in buying, this boat was just gravy.

The guy I bought them from said that the Polaris was stock except for a set of aftermarket flame arrestors.

Fast forward a season on the water. The boat starts showing low compression on the back cylinder. Upon taking it apart, I find the cylinder head is grooved for an o-ring and no head gasket. The o-ring is burnt to hell and missing 2" of it.

So I need a new one. Any idea where I go to find this? I don't know who did the work so I can't ask.

    Welcome to the HULK!!!

It is hard to see the o-ring groves. It dose look like there has been some machine work done to the domes. It also looks like you are getting some deto. What octane fuel are you running? What do the tops of the pistons look like? Has the fuel system been up graded to hi volume or tripple outlet pump?

Yeah, it looks like its had some detonation- Probably what blew the head gasket.

This is one of the things that pisses me off- this motor was run on 85 octane all year (which would be fine on a STOCK motor at 6000-9000 feet).

Knowing that somebody was running high compression heads would have been a nice thing to know.

The top of the piston looks good. I think all it needs is a new O-ring, or at least my plan is to get one, put it back together and see where compression is at. I'll think about doing more work at that point...

I am trying to absolutely minimize cost. This is ski number 4, and it is the slowest and least fun- It gets used when I have a friend that I don't trust on one of my better boats.

That said, it DOES have a single output fuel pump. Whats the most cost-effective way to fix that? I don't want to dump a lot of money into this thing, but the single outlet pump sounds like it is asking for issues.

I guess I also don't know if it is already a high volume pump. Essentially all I can say is that it is single outlet, and it seems absolutely retarded that the guy would mod the boat without adressing that piece.

I would put a set of stock head gaskets on it, and not deal with o-rings on that ski. Check e bay for the pump the sell for $45.00

    Welcome to the Hulk.
O-Rings can be had for cheap at www.mcmastercarr.com
Get viton as silcone will break down with 2-stroke oil.
Where are you located? I might be able to help with the fuel pump.

What is the bore size? Are you sure its a 650?

Oh man, you had me nervous for a second. Using a tape measure, I get right about 2 9/16" which seems to equate to 65 mm.

So it looks like it IS a 650.
