What year and models did Yamaha start using the 1812cc 4 cyl engine?

What year and models did Yamaha start using the 1812cc 4 cyl engine?

My brother in law wants to find a older (he means cheap) NA 1812cc Yamaha.

Also we wanted to know on the newer skis with high power upgrades "turbo ect.." Skis do they still run the Driveshaft coupler with the rubber in it?

The coupler must hold up well as I can't find many threads about them breaking??
Only thing I found was that some people upgrade the rubber to the Kawi 300 style.
Just wondering if there is any issue with them?

On the through hull fitting I see there is no Sea doo style crappy carbon seal, This bearing seal setup must also work pretty well?
Dose it have a grease zerk? Do you have to grease it every ride??

Sorry for all the Rookie Questions, I haven't played with Yamaha much. And thanks!

Yamaha introduced the 1.8 liter supercharged engine with the FX SHO in 2008. At that time, the FX HO used the 1052cc four cylinder, four-stroke MR-1 engine.

The FX HO was upgraded to the 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engine in 2009...

OP said NA 1.8 or FXHO 1.8L which first came out in 09. The SHO came in 08. Happy hunting on the 09+ FXHO as they don't show up much on CL and if they do, people ask a premium.

The intermediate coupler does have a grease zerk. You don't really have to put much in. No problems that I have or that I have seen. To much grease can blow out the seal.

Never heard of anyone having issues with the intermediate. There is a zerk right next to the flush hook-up. I think it's supposed to get greased every 100 hrs or once per season.
