Yamaha fzs wont crank need help
My 2011 yamaha fzs wont crank. It has been parked for couple months now. Re charged the battery however still doesnt crank. All i can hear is clicking sound when i try to start the ski. All fuses are checked and all are fine. new plugs, charged battery, fuses checked are all fine.
What else should i be looking at. Everything in the dash shows as its working. What should i be looking at, the starter motor?

It still sounds like a battery issue. Pull the battery and have it checked at a automotive store.

I know when a doo clicks its a starter relay...
Check the cables to and from the battery..
Also try tapping on the starter as you try to crank it.. starter could be on its last legs..

Does the charger actually give indications of battery state? It sounds like a battery cell failure from too deep a discharge, just enough voltage available to activate the relay.

I supect a bad battery! Have you ever replaced the battery? My rule is to replace the battery after it has been used for two riding seasons ( two years) . Also buy a quality battery ( don't buy a cheep battery) Tommy Jordan

Make sure the battery cables are tight. Could be starter relay.
Just replaced one of my OEM batteries with an AGM over the weekend.
Got almost 4 years out of it, figured that's good enough and why chance getting stuck out on the river.

Mine did the same when the battery went out. It even showed good and a full charge on my battery tender. When trying to crank all I would get was a click-any load and the voltage would plummet. Before you pull your hair out check the connections and if they're good just buy a new battery.

Get something in between the exhaust manifold and block and hit the starter. Happens every once in a while. Wont hurt doing. My ski was clicking and i thought it was battery and some other stuff. I got a long wrench and hitted the starter, that sucker started right up. I bet you is that lol

Guys thanks for your help and info. I tried with my charged battery and a friends battery who had just been out riding. Still no signs, engine wouldn't crank.
I shall take a look at the stater motor and relay later this afternoon. Shall give update by the evening.

Are you sure it is unlocked
Or worst case It may be seized
Pull the plugs and have a look
