6 vein ss stator rebuild questions

I just bought a brand new 6 vein ss stator, new impeller and pump seal and bearing rebuild kit for my 96 sl 900. Before i start to take it apart could i get a few tips and other parts i will need for the rebuild. I'm reading a few notes about having to use a new stator cone extension that is not twisted. Any tips on this also would help. Thx!!!

The 'twisted' wedge and related cone extension are not needed with the six vane SS stator.

Do check the clearance between the newly installed SS stator and the back edge of the blades on your impeller. The SS six vane stator leading edges have a slightly different angle and set back compared to the original five vane aluminum stator. Just make sure the impeller blades are clearing the stator vanes by more than a hair.

you can leave the cone extension out,if you swap out the twisted wedge with a standard 4 wedge you'll HAVE to replace the water tube in the pump setup as well with one of the slightly shorter ones, the aluminum one is for the twisted wedge, you have that one,the plastic one is for the 4 wedge

The stock aluminum water tube will be too long without the twisted wedge. I made those changes on my SL 900
