    Picking up '14 Seadoo RXPX

    Hello,

I am about to order '14 RXPX260 next week with 4 year warranty! Cant wait to ride on it! Summer needs to come now! I have a few questions about it! I have heard some people bought new seadoos and had steering is little off and etc. What are the things that I need to ask the dealer to look at it and fix it before i pick it up sometime in April!

List: To look at before picking up
    - steering rod
    - intercooler hoses
    - motor mounts
    - driveshaft line up

is there any more that they should check it?? thanks

Nothing really wrong with RXP-X since 2012.... except to keep an eye on the stock intercooler.
It should have been fixed since 2013, but we keep hearing some 2013 stock intercooler leaking.
Not sure if BRP upgrade again the intercooler for 2014.

It will be the best seadoo you've ever thrown a leg over. I'm sure. I've owned them all

I just picked up a '14 RXT-260 (and I also owned a '12 RXP-X) and had the same questions. I paid extra for the dealer to perform all of the checks I wanted. Here's a list of what I had done:

    1) check engine alignment
    2) install SST wear ring in pump (since the boat will be used in sandy salt water)
    3) install bilge pump
    4) install Riva Gen 3 intercooler
    5) verify pitch of the impeller and correct if necessary
    6) install Riva intake grate
    7) most importantly-perform a water test and verify all functions and adjustments

I put 17 hours on it in the ocean and didn't have any problems.

Dam shame you got to buy a new ski and still need to upgrade a intercooler. I mean its not like seadoo could not make a change to get that figured out. Then agin it took them five years and thousands of motors to change the ceramic washer design.

on the brighter side its a beautiful Ski and will Ride like a caddilac for Sure good luck with Your purchase

At least the hull doesn't crumble with rough water use like the NanoXcel hulled Yamahas.
