Seadoo GTX vs. Yamaha XLT 1200
I am trying to decide between two skis at same price. Which one would you guys choose?
2000 Seadoo GTX - 951
2002 Yamaha XLT 1200 (Approx. 40hr after engine rebuilt in 2010)

What hours on skis? Condition? Asking prices? Was the rebuilt xlt done by a pro with OEM parts or SBT? What's the situation with each ski?

I've had both and like both. My vote is XLT. I have a pair of 2004's that match. Yamaha's 2-stroke reliability is far superior IMO to that of Seadoo. Again, that is my opinion and I have a network of people that have the same opinion. With that being said, Seadoo is an industry leader but the facts are that I have way many more issues with Seadoos versus my Yammy's.

It all comes down to which one was taken care of. The 951 is a great engine, but does not take to neglect well. Yamaha's powervalve system has inherent flaws. I would never own a yamaha pv machine

If it is a 951DI, they are expensive to repair, but a great running machine when right. I would buy the most simple and well maintained of the two.
