Run Engine wih no drive shaft

While running WOT the ski started screaming. Sounded like 20 loose car fan belts. First thought was SC bearings; SC is OK. Must be pump; Pump is OK. Can I run the engine after I pull the drive shaft to see if the noise is gone?

I bet you stripped the drive shaft. It's a very common problem on the 2010 rxtx skis..
I've personally seen 3 and have heard of many more.
Use the search function on this site and you will pull up quite a few threads on the issue...
They came with junk shafts in 10 and some 11 models..

Sure you can. Just keep in mind you might be cleaning up an oil spill from an open PTO housing.

That's what I wasn't sure about. I didn't know if where the drive shaft plugs into the PTO was open to the crankcase or sealed some way. I would hate to replace my 2010 drive line with 2011 parts and the screaming turns out to be in the engine after everything is back together. I hate working on it, But the only shops in my area are Coleman Power Sports and they have repeatable done poor work.

You stripped the drive shaft. Scrap the screw in shaft and replace it with a c-clip style. Align as required.

if the shaft is indeed stripped on the prop side then you can fix the old prop i mean it happen to me and after spending over $350 on a prop and only 1 ride there is a way to fix it back to 100% if this is the case just pm me.

The motor wouldn't scream if it had issues it would knock...

Screaming is what a shaft does when it strips...

Pull the shaft and you will see for sure if its the shaft or not.

You can not run the engine without the driveshaft,it will lose oil from the PTO
